Nice flip! If I was you I would add a snappier snare just to add to that old school feel. Check out the instrumental for Give up the goods-Mobb Deep. Theres a break round the first few seconds with a dope snare, that would work perfectly with it in my opinion.
 
I know the snare is weak lol, I was in a hurry to make drums for this track so I picked the first drum break I could find but I'll check out that song when I get home
