    Chicago House!!!! What!!! :-)

    In all seriousness. Just start with DJ software or turntables if thats what you prefer and add things as needed.
    I saw a girl texting & driving the other day & it really made me mad, so I rolled down my window & threw my whiskey flask at her.

    If you're just playing other peoples music for say a house party;

    Figure out if you want to Vinyl, CDJ or VDJ (use CDs, or use software,) then you will need either 2 turntables and a mixer (or CD players and a mixer,) or you'll need DJ software and a MIDI controller.

    Step 1 first.

    First You need to discover if your a Ableton / Performer type of Live artist, or a Dj styled (turntables / mixing) artist, this will greatly determine the gear's use to your needs. For Example i started with Numark NDX800's and a Mixer, within the first year i got rid of it inplace for the VMS4.1 which i midi mapped to Ableton, allowing me to be more flexible with my own sets.
