Serato is the shit and the industry standard for clubs and what not. although I have never used traktor but I am planning on doing so in the near future. (That traktor S2 looks sick) I use a Rane ttm56 mixer and technics 1200's. As far as mixing goes, there are 2 primary ways I mix: blending and scratching. For blending, I lower the volume and cut the bass off the track Im mixing in and gradually increase both of them (bass and volume), then I cut the bass out of the other track at a certain point and fade it out. When scratching a track in, you want to know how long the intro of your track is. say you have a 2 count intro. you would want to bring the track in on the 7 count of the playing track's hook. make sense? haha Its not easy, it takes time. And things are way easier if you study, analyze, and KNOW YOUR MUSIC! Put that shit on your ipod, on a cd in your car, take the time to learn your music. hope this helped.
