a set of soundlab belt drives and a two channel mixer i cant remember the name of. i brought the set second hand for 50 quid - i managed to replace the belts easily enough but the mixer was a different issue. when the cross fader was 100% to the left the right deck would sound as well (abd vice versa) so i had to be real careful when 'in the mix' not to push the fader over too far.

i asked my bedroom dj mate what i needed to improve. "technics mate, you need technics"

lol oh wow... somebody else started on a realistic mixer! right on, mine had 2 channels and crunchy crossfader that sounded like metal garbage cans falling off a truck... One technics no-pitch control TT, and one belt drive Akai or something I got from a second hand store...

Two Gemini XL-100 Turntables and the matching POS Mixer. Back back back in to time, way back, not as far as some though!

Sneaking into dances that my uncle used to run, as he and his people ran a "sound"
Music was always round his house...taught me how to mix treble/bass and speaker set up...this is when a nigga wasn't even 10.

    Took it from there...

He still has a couple of those big ass speakers in his front room..
