I have a DJ controller but am really not sure how to go about scratching say a phrase from a song into a hook or maybe a bridge. I use Ableton and the controller I have is a Numark Mixtrack 2 (not Pro 2). I've already got the peaces I want cut from the songs I'm just trying to understand how to put it in something I make so that it doesn't sound out of place or sloppy.
What is the best way to scratch something from a song that isn't on vinyl?

The vinyl sound is just a less bit-crushed signal.
all vinyl is below 44.1khz and 16bits.Some mpcs arent even above 12bits.The appeal of vinyl is the lofi sound it creates for the track.
However the last sentence of the thread started confuses met.What do you mean by out of place?If you mean the theme or whatever, just edit the sounds until they fit better into the track whether it be equalizing or bit-crushing.
