As most of you know, I've been mixing for a few months now. I've got beatmatching down, mostly. But my mixes are pretty basic. Match 'em up, cut the lows/mids on the cue'd record, bring it in, then slowly turn up the lows/mids and drop the other track out. Can anybody give some good tricks to do while mixing? I know it depends on the songs being mixed, but..

And can anybody recommend some mix CDs that the DJ mixed a few different genres in his set? (NOT Bad Boy Bill style please!)

If you can still get it, Judge Jules' '98 Ibiza Annual (other CD by Boy George) he plays a really wide range of stuff.

Another one worth trying is Tom Middleton - A Jedi's Night Out on Ninja Tunes. Class mix, which encompasses an amazing range of tunes.

    Cool

    Hey

While Ya mixing insted of fading one out try simply spinning it back, you my have to turn the deck of first,

Simply get in to a mix wait till the tune ya wanna keep playing is at the end of a bar then get the other record and simply give it a nice fast spin back.. But be carfull not to do it too fast or u will jump the needle.. Also make sure that the tune you are gonna Spin back is not singing and it has Base playing and it is not in a break down or out or it will not sound good..

Try it first by just playing one tune then spin it back..
