    Question

I've heard various people (who may have been talking out of their ***) that a lot of DJ play really wasted, on drugs, etc. I find this kind of unbelievable as mixing is really not easy. Is this true? Do any of you (or some DJ who isn't you) do drugs or get a bit tipsy before/during a set? Also on the subject of rumors, I saw a sensational TV special on the evils rave culture and they talked about people choking each other on E? I've been to my fair share of raves/clubs and I've never even heard of this? It sounds rather bizzare to me. "Hey baby, mind if I give you a good choke?" What?!

    Thanks

Unfortunatly, drugs are widespread in the "rave" scene.
The fact it's almost "forbidden" to talk about drugs
here shows us that there IS a drug problem.

I really don't like trance, and a reason for my dislike
is the massive drug abuse at trance raves. Ecstasy, speed,
cocaine, it's everywhere there. It's sad that people seem
to not have the strength and stamina to dance for 5 hours
    without drugs.

    Btw, weed ain't a drug

the reason drugs are not discussed here is that fact that this site might close if you do, ie Mano's nice sponsors might pull the plug on this site, and then would we pay for the hosting??

Trickmaster; i think nerves and adrenaline do it for most dj's

    trickmaster: I didn't speak as a dj when I said they can't
dance for straight 5 hours without drugs.

Dj'ing ain't as physically demanding as dancing is

    onlineDJ censored?

I just find it interesting that a thread can just be killed because of it's subject matter. Obviously no one wants anyone else to die from drug abuse and it is apparent that there is drug use in the dance scene but just not talking about it doesn't solve anything other than avoiding trouble with the people hosting this site. If that's the case then maybe free speech on this site is compromised by the fact that some topics could endanger the continued existence of this site. That's disturbing. I'm not bashing anyone and I personally have found this site to be very educational but whenever I get a whiff of censorship on the net it scares me considering how the US and many other countries are pretty much trying to censor everything including the Internet. Just my thoughts on the matter.
