I know this guide on how to refinish your 1200s, but unfortunately it's in Swedish and it's too much text to translate for you.

But perhaps you're able to make something out of the pictures?

for the upper chassis, you can strip the deck of all components and have it powder coated to the color of your choice - about $100. don't bother with trying to paint it yourself, it will not hold up well. i've had good luck cleaning up platters by cleaning them up with a toothbrush and a decent degreaser then taking a fine sand paper or cloth and cleaning just the surface of the dots. be careful when doing this so you don't sand parts other than the dots. - jeff h
