A question about tables...

Not turntables for a change either...

I recently found a stainless steel prep like you might find in a kitchen for a little over $200 that I was interested in putting my decks/mixer on. I wonder if anyone has any experience with anything like this? I kinda worry that it might be a little too resonant so I'd like to know before I put down the money.

are you seriously asking us a technical question about a table.

use whatever you like...i promise, it's okay

Make sure it's sturdy though! You don't want to be cueing your tune and have the table shake!

Unless you place your speakers on the table you should have no problems with resonance, since the elctrical equipment in itself won't cause any vibrations.

i dunno, a steel table could conduct a lot of electricity and cause ground loops, static shocks, and other messy stuff. i reccomend you lay a blanket or towels down on it before you put your decks & mixer on the table.

peace,

I've got the exact same setup. Never had a problem. You can get them cheaper though. I got one 4' long x 31" high x 2' deep for $90 at a restaurant supply store here in L.A.

Same here. Haven't had any problems at all. The speakers are not on the tables.
