I just ordered my new setup and it should be here in 2 days. Just wanted to say thanks for your help.

Im getting 2 Stanton STR880 w/520sk cartridges
Vestax PMC 170A mixer
and the stanton dj pro 60 headphones,

I can barely wait to try my new toys out =]

good luck! I'm getting some decks in a few months too.
I'll probably choose 1200's, stanton 8-80 or numark. pro T+1.

i have the 170, but i have sl 1200's instead, r u using it to mix drum and bass??? if so it is ideal for drum and bass man, you cant go wrong

goa/psy trance..ambient stuff mostly...maybe will try mixing opera and jungle =] <<that stuff sounds cool.

yeah jungle would be cool man, it is similar to drum and bass, so you should be able to cut every thing up with that equip

Homegrown we have the same setup, but I'm into mixing. Don't you find the, wait do you have the 170a (that only comes in silver?) or the 170? Not sure if the 170 comes in black as well as silver, I think I've seen it in black. Anyways, if you have the silver plate don't you find it too shiny and you're always trying to keep it clean? that's my only problem with the 170a and I wish it came in black (think it does) Dammit I'm running in circles here lol, I could only get it in silver.

oh yeah by the way i am into mixing to, thats what i use the 170a for, i use my mixtick for ttism and hiphop, i have a wierd setup, you cqannot begin to understand my setup, lol


i have 3 decks, 2 mixers

mainly used with 2 djs, like for hiphop and battles and **** like that, plus i use the 3rd deck for scratching over the top or a current mix, or i use it to sample ina vocal or a cool sound over a current mix.
