Looking for a mixer that can output MIDI timecode. Anyone out there know of one, and if so is it effective/helpful in your sets?
    Thanx

The Roland DJ-1000 and DJ-2000 output MIDI signals, those are the only two I know of...

Cool - Thanks for the info. Those were the only ones I found while searching last night.

Have you used either of these?

I work with two other guys (a drummer/guitar player and a keyboard player) and we've got most everything else we use linked up via MIDI. I usually find myself having to sync up with the other insruments and when I pull in one of thier loops I usually have to do some tweaking before I can throw it into the mix. I'm hoping a mixer with the MIDI will streamline this process - whatcha think?

By the way - Seems like an incredible forum here.

    Thanks again for the info

    peace

    Hey Angelic,

Do you know anything about the X9? I looked it up - seems like the Tascam might be more powerful than the Roland but I've never used either brand.

the X9 is not out yet....
but if it is what we think it's gonna be, than yeah, it's a better mixer than the DJ-2000
the best man to answer ur Q is Tricky, as he is the master of DJ-2000 and a huge fan of Tascam (and the upcoming X9)

I'd recommend saving up for the 2000 if you can, cause the DJ1000 is kind of noisy. Another thing you could look at is a RedSound microsync which you could stick in an effects send path to drive your midi gear. The upcoming sync modules for their InFader mixer also look like they'd do the trick for you. Check em out www.redsound.com
