    Mixer to Macbook connection

    Hey,
I don't know how to connect my mixer to my macbook so that it can play two different decks on the computer and transfer it to the mixer so that i can have it go through two different inputs. i want to be able to use the crossfader and assign line 1 as deck A and assign line 2 as deck B. If anyone knows how to do this let me know please. I am running traktor 3 if that helps.

    Thanks,
    Amir

So you want to controll two mp3's from the same program on one mixer.
Guess it all depends on the software but since the mac only has one output you will have to figure out how to split it left and right and play two mono channels. Otherwise you will need to get an audio interface with two or more stereo outputs, that is if tractor allows you split tracks to different channels.

I dont use traction, so I dont know, but seems like you should be able to cue and play and the same time so I think it can be done...your the one that allegedly bought the program... learn it.

You need something like Serato to do that.

not true yo can use a really budget minded sound card with 2 outputs and route it though traktor not traktion mensioned above , and go that way also if your like me (gearslutz) buy a firewire card with 8 outputs and route it that way (better sonic quality this way)

    cherrs !

I originally said, "something like serato." You mentioned Traktor. I believe the two programs are similar.

I meant to say traktor not tracktion, whatever...bottom line is audio interface is the way to go, weather it be built into hardware or a fire wire card or whatever.
Any software is going to let you route audio to what ever output is available. If you only got one left and right channel (the macs audio out) what you gonna do? Thats why you get an audio interface.
