a pair of second hand Technics SL1200mk2 or 1210mk2 (difference lies in the colour) would be your best bet.

NOOOOOOO way. ok this is what u have to do for $200 a piece buy the numark TT-200's. they are more powerfull and have more features then a technic 1200. check out www.turntablelab.com and check them out. These are the best value turntables out there. They are really well made too.

    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA

good lord in heaven, where would you get an idea like that???

the only turntables that can stand up to the Tech 1200's are the Vestax PDX-2000 and maybe the Numark TTX-1. TT-200's are a far cry from the perfection that is a Tech 1200.

as long as Katana is cool w/ getting used decks, which is a great investment and a great idea when it comes to Tech 1200's, then TT-200's are a really bad idea. if you read Turntablelab's info on buying decks, they will even steer you away from the TT-200's in favor of the 1200's... and not cause of the price difference either.

man, i can't beleive you'd reccommend that junk over a Tech. LOL!!!

no way man. Look at the specs. The tt 200 motor is better than the 1200. and you get the straight and the s shaped arm. They are amazing for the value and besides who needs 1200 to start out with. tt-200's are more than enough. see the patent that tech had on the magnetized motor thing no longer exists so now every company is making turntables whjich are better than techs. Numark made the TTX-1 and the TT-200 and stanton made the 150's. Just go wit ha brand new pair of tt-200's

    SPECS, SPECS??????

Im not a big technics fan, and I do own TTX-1's but how on earth could you say TT200's are better. Specs are written by the company in this case numark so of course there gonna big it up fool!!!!!

Technics are much better and as catnap said pdx 2000 and ttx-1's are the only decks to rival technics

    no way dude.
    save your money.
buy yourself a brand new set of kick ass belt drive geminis!
make sure you get the ones with the pitch-bend buttons (now THATS some technology that youll never find in 1200s!)
these are the tables that most big name djs have in their studios!
