Question Is a DJ Mixer midi controller enough to work as a semi pro DJ?

i make beats and play a few instruments but i'd love to be a dj and earn some money mixing music on pubs, so i found this kind of midi controller that lets you control softwares such as Virtual DJ but as a hardware dj set up, it is really smaller than other mixing decks so i think it doesn't look so pro but it's kinda cool, so do you think i could work it out with this?

PS: how long will it take me to make professional mixes and also composing some loops at live performances with this mixer, a netbook and a midi controller keyboard? i mean, how long will it take me to get pro enough to get paid? lol

Yeah I have something similar to that, its a DJ Software Controller. It basically puts what you see on screen into your hands. With a unit like that people wouldn't really take you seriously, you should probably just grab a Numark Mixtrack Pro if your gonna be mixing but don't wanna go overboard. Hope I helped!

If you want something smaller and portable you can use the Traktor Kontrol

It really shouldn't matter in my opinion. Its the same concept as someone worrying about what gear is used to produce music. As long as you can perform up to standard, shouldn't matter what software and controller combo that is used.
