Okay, it looks like I'll be purchasing a new Denon unit within a week or two. I prefer to use cd's to mix so it's come down to deciding between the 2100F or the 2600F. However, the price difference is about $400 or $500 dollars more for the 2600F, and after checking the stats for both, I'm not quite convinced that it's worth paying the extra money just for the extra effects (Reverb, Flange, EQ). The website for Mars music claims the 2100F is basically the 2600F minus the 3 effects. Does anyone know if this is true?

I'm basically getting the hardware unit because of my experience with Traktor. I really love being able to mix using features such as those found on Traktor, but I still think software programs are too fickle. Therefore, I basically want a hardware device that can do what Traktor can, and I don't mind having to buy separate effect units for filtering and EQ kills. If I get them from Electrix, I'll still come out ahead of the 2600F price.

Anyhow, now that you know what I'm after, does anyone have any suggestions? By the way, I'm only interested in hearing from those who know about these Denon units.

    Thanks...

i you want a (very good) basic machine with little effects: go for the 2100
otherwise, in you case with much effects, go with the 2600

but i would prefer the 2100 cause i don't find all those things neccesary

Thanks... I've made my decision and placed my order. I managed to get a really good deal on it ( if the authorization goes through ), but I have a strong feeling it will. The company I ordered it from sent me an email saying they would match the price and also included a verification number. I placed the order today and I'm waiting for it to process so I can get the tracking number. Oh... I decided on the 2100F because I also don't need those other effects which are Reverb, Flanger, Filter, 16sec sampler, and a memo function that remembers all of your loops and cue points. Minus the memo feature, I can always purchase modules and add them to the rack later. That way all my eggs aren't in one basket...

At this point the exact details won't matter for reasons outlined in this reply. I will tell you that I really lucked out on this one. There was a website that had the Denon 2100F listed for only $675.00 ( and free shipping ) but I didn't know if I could trust the company. So I emailed a company I've dealt with before and asked them if they would match the price. I sent them the website address, and they agreed to match that price as well as the free shipping. Two days later and after my order had already shipped out, the website with the really low price raised the price to $799.00

Therefore, I can't help but think that I just got really lucky and got a price match for a price that was actually too low and a mistake ( or maybe was just on sell ). Nevertheless, I had no way of knowing that was the case, and as I've stated, they've already shipped out the Denon unit. I think the stars were just in my favor and I got lucky. Since the website with the great deal raised their price, the details don't really matter anymore... What does matter is the lesson that it pays to shop around and find the best price. After you find it, see if your favorite company will price match it. If they won't, then maybe it's time to try out another company...
