Someone try to figure this one out...
I have two portable cd players, a mixer, a reciever, two optimus speakers...all that right there spells out danger in big bold letters!!! I really don't know what to do with myself...I am going to be doing two "gigs" with that equipment and then I should have $200.00. I know I know....not much right...well I just wanted to ask you all what should I "buy" first? cd players (I don't think I can get anything for $200)...speakers? I really am completly clueless...you have to help me please....
    thanks

The two cd players are discmens...ok the reciever all I can really say is that it's really really old and I don't know how many watts it puts out....the speakers are Optimus' 150watts RMS and 300watts MAX....so we aren't talkin' really big....

Do you have a mixer to blend the two sources? Either way, I'm afraid you'll have to forget about beatmatching or any tricks with set up. Also, the two Discmen are, as you will notice, very prone to skipping.
I suggest you save up a wad of cash (sell your car, your mum or your body) and get proper DJ CD players (Pioneer, tascam, Denon...).

well.. if you're just "playing music" and not expected to make a real mix, put the discmen on pillows or something and pray. i would try and borrow some real equipment though. and obviously what the money should go to is a better source as you have essentially none. I have actually seen older used cdj decks (dual) for 150$ on this very site.. you might get lucky.
