well right now my tables are at my bro's I will have to try that and see. I know I probally should have relized that, but I mainly mix music, and not to much into scratching but would like to start a little more.

It doesn't matter if you scratch or not. Get rid of them things and you will see the difference even when you mix. That is funny though!!!!

bwahaha, yea, i'd prolly laugh a lot harder if i didn't do that too... the joy's of trying to learn scratching yourself without guidance... get this, when i started, i didn't know you needed a mixer, or there was special turntables for scratching, let alone many other things, slipmats, break records, etc, lol :|
ditto on most of that. i remember listening to my first record with skipless samples and being like "how the HELL do you play this? it's just beep-ah-fresh-beep-ah-fresh-beep...."
copy. right.
HMMM!! well I tried withot a rubber LOL. I liked a hell of a lot better other then now it seems to not get up to speed as fast but hey I will have to do some practiceing and that. I am thinking the way it is now and if I put a butter rug or something under it would be really quick, maybe to quick, I will have to get one some and try it out. Yea I definatly need to learn a lot on the scratching thing, I am also haveing a hard time crabing and that but when I get my other new table I will have that on my left side so thinking I will do better at useing my right hand for the mixer. I am hopeing this friday to get my second MG5.
Yo, dont worry about butter rugs or flying carpets or anything yet.
heres what you gatta do:
1. take your 1/4 in thick rubber mats and use them as frizbys
2. get your "Technics" slipmats and put em on the platters
you wanna use just the slipmats alone. the are a little bit grippier than the butter rugs, which is what you want. you dont want a really slippery mat when you are first learning how to scratch, because you need that little bit of grip for record control. once you can scratch, then get some flying carpets and put em under you technics mats (they will be nicely broken in by then) then they will be nice and perfect.
If you dont plan to scratch at all, dont ever buy butter rugs or anything. all you need is a good set of felt mats, like the "Technics" ones
