hi,
i was wondering if any one could give me tips on who, except from Corvin Dallek, plays WET&HARD and has vinyls out.
many thanx for the help.

Wet and hard? Are you describing a style of house music? If so... I've heard Timo Maas describe his style that way. I don't know who Corvin Dallek is, but I'll take Timo Maas against him in a battle any day.

yep.
maybe you should stick out your head from your ass sometimes and listen to something else than you stick to for years baby...¨

I'm a little confused...

nice.

oh and its you! the one who started the thread! well obviously YOU know what it means. i was wondering if anyone ELSE did. which apparently not a lot of people do.... theres ONE mofo who took a *guess* at what you meant.... and i have my head in my ass.

youre obviously too cool for me....

let me take a wild guess...

you are a new dj, and heard about this 'hot new style' coming out. and you have one of the tracks mentioned, and you love it! so now you wanna be a 'wet and hard' dj cuz thats the cool new thing! yippee!! good luck, seriously. try not being a dikk. ill do the same.

and dont call me baby.

peace.

yes, its me who started the thread. and i was asking a simple question to those who might know something about this one style. you either know or you dont - simple enough.

you dont necessarily have to be a psychologist to guess that i know only a few djs playing this style - why on earth would i be starting the thread... all i meant is to find some one who might help...

being "new" is kinda relative, dont you think... the very same applies to the music styles (as for this particular one, the "new" means maybe 2 years...)

wish you good luck too. seriously.

time

Wet and Hard !

wet & hard is imaginitive, fresh, young music for a new generation of
open-minded and adventurous clubbers to play with.

It's something thats new and exciting!

Here's a good discription from:
--Mark Reeder
MFS Records, Berlin

"wet&hard provides deep piledriving beats and throbbing-groovy basslines to
melt away your inhibitions and turn you on. you can make love to the music
as the music makes love to you.
it is not stony-faced industrial, or seriously minimal like techno can be
and its not tawdry or tedious like tv-trance is. wet&hard is just like
falling in love, mysterious and exciting. it is spongy and yet tough, it is
hot and sexy, it is thrilling and funny and it is very very entertaining."

John Gibbons, Corvin Dalek, Dj Klang, Dj Pat are some wet and hard djs ....

Oh, well that clears it all up. ::rollseyes:: Jeez, how about a quantitative description instead of some marketing hype BS.

I listened to the mixes from Corvin Dallek and John Gibbons. Nothing revolutionary but not bad either. Baiscally hard, dark, bass heavy house. Take any track off the Sondos label and speed it up a little and crank the bass. Kind of a "it's 4AM and the good drugs are kicking in" kind of sound.

I've heard many sets like this is California and Vegas for the past five years, but nobody ever bothered to package it up for sale. Following the links....it's actually a scene in Europe, they have pictures, hype, T-shirts, the whole deal.

Like most scenes, I imagine that those in the scene believe they have found something new and magical that will change the world. Enjoy it while it lasts, because it's just a matter of time till you can box up your "wet and hard" Tshirt. File it under the Northern Soul shirt, The Acieed shirt, The summer of love shirt, and the monster massive rave shirt.

Oh wait, those things did actually change the world.....and I still spin my Stardust 12" all the time....maybe I should just shut up

excellent post. thats what i wanted to say but couldnt figure out how not to sound like an arshole. you managed not to. although.... i do find that stardust factoid to be a serious character flaw... you should get that checked out. you might be sick.

peace.

just another pigeon hole.......

I was talking to a friend of mine the other day, and was like "how would you categorize your current tastes?"

he answered simply, 'things that I like and think sound good'....

Wet and Hard Is the sound of the pornoground It's music to f**k too !

It's House meeting Techno.

I wont be packing my wet&hard t-shirt away any time soon !

It's all about the clubbing experience which hasn't been all that great in Ireland over the past while.

Check out vividvinyl.net, and spin1038.com on a thursday night to John Gibbons and you'll be scratching a different tune !

LOL
