So I began producing EDM a few months ago, have made multiple decent tracks that have gained popularity in the town I reside. I want to go further with this. I want to do live sets: at universities, clubs, venues, etc.... wherever.
So I have a few questions I need answered
1.) As an EDM (specifically dubstep) artist, what is everything I need to perform live?
I have a laptop with Ableton Live, and I've just ordered the Ableton Push that I'd like to incorporate live. But what else do I need? Will a laptop + a mixer of some sort + microphone + speakers do the trick? Point me in the right direction.
2.) How do artists like Flux Pavilion, Skrillex, Excision, etc. mix & play other artists' music live?
Do they have access to the project files or something? If so, where would I go about getting them... For example, say I want to perform Skrillex - Break'N a Sweat (Zedd Remix) live. How would I go about that?
