is this good for a begineer?

^ true that i started with cheap stuff also and defined my style when i had like crappy denon cdjs and even more crappier turntables haha. when i got money i got some pioneer cdjs and beside its a bit more easier to mix nothing really changed in the way that i mix :p
 
You definitely need to decide whether you want to start cheap with something like the Hercules or save some kit and get something higher up in the chain like a Numark. I think anything around the level of a Pioneer is a bit out of reach for a beginner. Keep an eye out at places like Guitar Center - they're DJ department isn't that solid, which means they tend to clearance out units that really shouldn't be. I picked up a $1,500 Pioneer unit for $300 last time I was there.

With that being said, the Hercules units look to be a lot nicer than when I DJed 6+ years ago.
