fat bass frequency software

now then, just getting in to making my own beats,
wanting some reallly fat bass, daft punk oh yeah style, or some really nice dnb style stuff.

from what i've learned so far it's about using square waves (?) and frequencies and ****,

could anyone point me the direction of some software (free or cheap if possible, but i'll pay if needs be) where i can just play around making some sexy fat bass?

trilogy bass by spectrasonics is suppose to be great. I haven't gotten around to it yet but its suppose to be something else.

the best way to get phat bass is layering, say you get a synth bass and a real bass sample layered up, this will enhance it, you can filter out some of the high end, leave yourself with the low end frqcy!

compression techniques will enhance the bass and uniform it,

use max bass tools to also bring out the lower end!!

there is a nice section on here about getting pumping bass in the tutorial section!!
