yeah that's what capp mentioned before. if u work with an artist closely and ur basically working on the bulk of their music then if they make an album you're garanteed album placements. the problem with working with alot of these underground artists like St. Laz, etc is that although they're making moves and ****, part of their hustle is having a huge group of producers giving them free beats and although working with a guy like him is a good expirience, when he (eventually) gets signed and makes an album, it's not likely you will get placement out of the 50+ guys who he has as his team. not to hate but alot of these big mixtape artists will work with big artists and have good videos and **** but i always wonder, if they're having features with 50 cent and getting props from these big guys, why aren't they signed yet? you shouldn't rely on mixtape artists to make you sucessful but they can be a door to other connects but just because an artist you connected with is signed to a label doesn't mean they're going to drop a label because like many dipset, roc-a-fella, etc signees they never actually get to drop an album.
