I really want to know, from a producer that wants do songwriting and write songs for people, whats really important? Do you really need to be a good singer? You need to lay down vocals and have everything professionally mixed and mastered? I dont know alot about the songwriting game compared to beatmakers/producers? I need some advice..

As far as what goes into a good set of lyrics in order to MAKE a good song? Or do you want to know about the actual process of going about working with someone who needs a song written?

I would love to be able to write songs but I find it impossible to find a melody within the song to write to.

It's no different than the melodies to the beats that you make. You find a melody for every single instrument you put in a beat, right?

Singing melodies and harmonies are no different. The singer is just another instrument.

I don't produce or sing. I just listen to instrumentals and can't find the rhythm in which to arrange the lyrics.

    Then songwriting isn't your calling.

I see talent like Ester Dean writing for artists and I wonder now how do you get your demos out and say you are a songwriter? I know the idea of selling beats but i want to know is there an idea of selling songs? I don't want to be an artist, i want to make money selling songs. I just want to know the process of what songwriters go through in the music business. Do you need to be an established singer? Do you have to hire one?
