Apparently, Hip Hop & RnB is starting to be heavily influenced by this Dubstep thing.
Someone explain it to me, or better yet, post up a bunch of popular dubsteb songs/vids.
I want to study it and see where it comes from, and how it works.

here's somebody's grandparents reacting to dubstep, lol
the stuff thats being fused into Hip Hop, R & B & Pop is more of a hybrid spin off of dubstep, its more electro/house type stuff
thats kind of whats been taking off as of late, the original dubstep had a lot of dark melodic work and fusion of drum & Bass type stuff, now its basically just dark house music, with some reggae/dub influences in a lot depending on the artist/DJ
some popular "dubstep" songs now, the whole classification is kinda weird im sure somebody can tell me what is what, but the genre is kinda torn up now that its mainstream and theres different sectors
<--- this is what Jay & Kanye "sampled" on Watch The Throne
Okay. I think I get it...
(not to sound like a dick...)
But I had a very similar idea about 4-5 years ago, and started playing with it, and trying to develop it into a sound.
I called it "glitch music", and it was made up of all these computerized, glitchy, electrocuting type of sounds.
(FP told me it was wack.)
The dubstep i'm hearing in these videos is much more developed and intricate than the sound I was playing with a few years ago, but still the same basic concept.
But I get it. I like.
This stuff would make great pop music. Not necessarily dance music, but like I can hear Katy Perry or Pink over some of the lighter, more melodic stuff.
I think I'm gonna try out a hybrid of some guitar pop with some dubstep elements.
Thanx for all the vids guys, and keep em coming...I'm loving the different takes on the sound, and learning the common themes in the music.

I know...and that's what I learned when I "coined" the phrase.
When I learned that there was a type of music out there that already existed by that name, I started looking more into it, and figuring out what it was.
It was weird, but interesting...people taking apart kids toys and different electronics, and making them make music sounds they weren't intended to, and making songs out of em. It was fascinating...the electrical engineer in me loved it. But it was way too much work.
But yeah, i learned there was a proper "glitch music" that already existed.
My idea came from playing around in Reason, and finding all these electro staticky, electrocution sounding sounds.
That led to my "discovery" of the Glitch genre.

Katy Perry would be perfect to go over an Dubstep track.
There's lots of dubstep version remixes of E.T.
This is the remix of "E.T" i did, and wanted to have that dubstep kinda vibe to it without getting really into it.
I've been listening alot to of Skrillex Chase & Status & Flux Pavilion

I saw a girl texting & driving the other day & it really made me mad, so I rolled down my window & threw my whiskey flask at her.
Here's a "dubstep inspired" Lily Allen track I did a while back.
It came out dope. Check it.
