Some one told me my beats sound like Johnny Juliano's should I take offense or thank them. I liked the fact they think that but at the same time I don't because I'm trying to be unique.

If they actually do, you will be at a level half the people on here are giving their ass cheek to achieve :/
Johnny Juliano is obviously highly successful and you should be happy you get compared to him.
Don't worry about being unique, because no rapper is going to want your unique sound unless it has been proven somehow. Since your posting on a message board and not busy with a career in beat making (like me) . I'm guessing that's not the case.

All beat leases are 99cents!
Thanks guys really gave me a little insight~
I don't know who Johnny Juliano is, but be grateful that you weren't compared to Soulja Boy. Now that's just a foul.![]()
Tell them to go fvck themselfs with a broken 40
Don't worry about being unique??? So you're basically saying that one should continue to recycle the mindless, ignorant drivel that's poisoning the airwaves??
I don't know about you guys but I make music for the art and expression of myself. If unique has to be "proven" then what is unique about it? Are you considering "proven" something that the sheeple masses will enjoy???
for me when someone compares my stuff to someone else I only care if i respect that persons opinion on music production
I love to hear feedback from friends and up and coming artists but honestly most of the time they don't know what they're talking about
the only time i get concerned with my beats or my sound is when a producer who I respect says something or i notice something myself. because i get comments like this all the time earlier this week someone told me one of my beats sounded like a song on the radio and what they heard was one synth sound that was kinda similar but in reality it was played in a completely different way at a different point of the song and had a different feel.
i did make a beat about 2 years ago that i have since realized sounds very similar to kanyes flashing lights lol i don't know how i went through the entire process of making it without knowing

If someone said you sounded like hot traxx, then you have a problem
Completely untrue if you're making mainstream music.
Mainstream music is what it is because that's what the majority of the population will like to listen to. In that majority is the everyday people that blast music in their chevy's just for the hell of it. These are the people that will be listening to your music in the end, and if they don't like it, the professional's won't either.
Of course this doesn't apply to all types of music.
