Ok, so I'm a 19 year old kid with no job, don't go to school, or have kids, and I make beats all day

opposed to producer with kids, a job, and schooling and only gets to make beats 1 or 2 hours a day or sometimes no hours a day

no disrespect.........but I have the better chance at succeeding because I have no responsibilities

I think that's how vybe, johnny and superstar o shot up to the top because they were probably the same age as me getting it in all day with no job , no kids, or school

I want to make a poll to see how many producers there are with jobs opposed to producers with no jobs...... I just wanna get a idea

Also, I would like to hear your opinion on subject

How much a week would you say you bring in from producing?

I don't produce. No job (looking) or kids. But I do go to school and finish in a year.

My advice: Go to school. You can get an online degree and still spend majority of your time producing. You're taking a gamble by not having a job or going to school.

You should still go to school. What are you gonna do if in 10 years you aren't making a career out of producing? You won't have a degree and the only thing on your resume would be a part time job. Everyone needs a back up plan.

I made a promise to myself that If my music career doesn't take off by the time I'm 21, I'll focus on other things

    until then.......I'm going hard

Just saying, you can still go to school and go hard. I had the same mindset you did a couple months ago. 4-5 hours of schoolwork a week won't hold you back from anything.

Actually, I'd say you have the least chance of "making it".

You don't have any responsibilities...so you don't have anything to live for. You don't have anything to motivate you. It's just "something to do".

Someone who's older, who has kids and a family, they are working FOR something. They have things to lose if it doesn't work out. They can't afford to waste time. They have to be efficient, they have to work harder than everyone else, and they have to make sure that every dollar spent, and every minute spent doing music COUNTS.

Not to mention you don't have a very realistic view of what it takes to make a living doing this. 2 years? It's gonna take more than 2 years for you to even LEARN how to produce music on a professional level.

Plus, this music thing takes MONEY to do. How you gon network with no money? How you gon get on planes? How you gon buy new equipment? How you gon go to conferences? How you gon pay for hotels?

You think relationships are built on the INTERNET?

I'm not gonna lie, I used to........postman put that in my head

he was like you can be a living room rockstar......you can make money in your sleep etc. .....lol

but I found out quickly, that was far from true

here's what iceboy does........he goes and buys a mixtape and looks on the back for the contact information and sets up meetings with them....... he said that he's sold quite a few beats this way

    I think that's what I'll start doing
