Drake To Sign With Interscope? Studio Time With Jay-Z?

So word on the street is that Lil Wayne’s favorite ghost writer and internet pheonom, Drake, is going to sign with Interscope Records. It’s also been rumored that Jay-Z himself is looking for some possible studio time with Drizzy after Drake spit some bars for Mr. & Mrs. Carter up in Canada. Weezy’s number one source of inspiration is also managed by the influential Hip-Hop & G (the guys who discovered Kanye), only putting him in a stronger position to succeed. Another fact of note is that supposedly Sylvia Rhone from Universal/Motown passed on the boy Drake. Interesting. This is the same woman who signed Kid Cudi. Does that mean Kid Cudi > Drake. Doubtful in this blogger’s mind. To be real I’ve been unimpressed with a lot of the **** Cudi has dropped post A Kid Named Cudi, and I see nothing but commercial success coming from Drake. So it looks like a lot of power moves are going to be made in the next week. Stay tuned for updates here on iHipHop.com. Plus cop Drake’s classic mixtape So Far So Gone already. You’re going to look like an amateur if you don’t.
I was listening to Big Boy in The Morning past Friday and some guy went in on Wayne. He said, "Wayne wasn't nothing till he hooked up with Drake."

Hmmmm! Y'all could have allready debated that ... oh well.

Personally I don't care... but one opinion of Drake > Kid Cudi
is kind of off for me, because I never pit them two against one another in my mind. Two totally different styles. Oh well I'm throwing this to the wolves... get at me.

Well...Drakes ghostwriting is shown through all of Waynes latest stuff minus the rebirth crap...but Wayne made it hot so when Drake comes a knocking on the mainstream door there will be a lot of people talking about he is like Lil Wayne...personally Drake >Wayne by far but Cudi > Drake in terms of a different sound Drake > Cudi in terms of staying in the box.

Funny... when he kinda help make that box. Ironic...

I just would not pit Drake against Kid Cudi. I don't see any similarities besides being able to sing their own hooks. Two different worlds apart... that I can relate to.

hes workin wit jay? if that statement is true hes already marked as official. hate the g.o.a.t or love him, but doode def. knows how to revive hip hop when its been down and almost out. cant wait to see what happens. and as far as this drake and wayne thing, no need to start. we all know where that argument is headed.
Im tired of all the complaining, if you cant find work locally or industry, stick to your "REAL" day job.

I thought he already signed with Interscope?
Drizzy could go head to head with Jay lyrically.

The wackest producer of all time.

Man, you know... I'm actually looking forward to reading comments on that ghostwriting thing. Cause when that dude went in on Wayne. Big Boy played it off and gave Drake his props. We all know why!

Plus, the thing i hate about rappers with ghostwriters ... is .............

It's not like singers, with singers you can enjoy their lyrics and or their voice. I don't listen to rappers cause I like the sound of their voice. (I know.... swagga varies and can compensate for delivery of words, but I don't know .... you guys..... I'm a Pimp C fan and his delivery was on point but then we knew he did not have a ghostwriter and he did that would have fudged the whole experience of truth behind his words.)

But it don't matter I see both sides if this argument so I won't chime in ... I'll just watch

No ... this is just a rumor....

I saw a Young Money Video and Drake was on their as a member... But he could have a joint venture or something else, right.....

I don't think anyone gonna come out with a disk except for Wayne.... for a hot minute. Currency left and Dizzy DI left too. How long a kid got to wait to release an album over there.

I would still say that Drake was influenced by Wayne aside from what he wrote for Wayne, because he ain't been writing for him THAT long, and a lot of comes from Philly anyway, from Gillie Da Kid & from Jay during the height of the Roc dynasty with State Property, I haven't heard Drake's stuff before So Far Gone to know what he sounded like beforehand, you can definitely hear the influence ... Drake is like a more coherent version of Wayne, but the similarities isn't really a bad thing, its more like Grandmaster Caz to Big Daddy Kane to Jay-Z, or Rakim to Nas, and I'm sure most people would rather Drake get the nod from Jay then for Wayne to get it ... as for Kid Cudi, not feeling his music at all, its just not for me ... I kinda wondered why Drake wasn't on the Freshman cover, first I thought Wayne was gonna just have him write for him and put off his career but he's in the Every Girl single/video so there goes that theory lol
