With all due respect to anybody who uses them in their productions, but 808 drums are annoying every nerve cell in my body. Almost 9/10 rap songs on the radio have the same 808 drums, different pitches and patterns. Where's the variety anymore? Where's the originality? Where are those groovy hip hop drum arrangements? I am not against using 808 drums, but in moderation! Does anybody else notice that phenomenon?

You mad at the radio for playing songs with 808's. Like I said...808's been here forever. And the good news is......there is music out there that fits what you love... so all you have to do is....

It's about taking what you enjoy from something and making it your own. I love 808s but I probably don't use them exactly like Lex or Drumma would.

.......What? A producer does not have to know how to mix? That is the problem, even the definition of a producer is warped now. Yes, producers do have to know how to mix!!! What is a producer if he/she does not know about EQing frequencies, compression, limiting, side chaining, modulation, gates, routing tricks, this, that....? Your statement equates to " An engineer who only knows how to build an engine, transmission, wheels, etc, but does not know HOW to connect all, or even WHY they work simultaneously. By the way, that is why I NEVER "copy" any producer. And yes, I still think Lex Luger is garbage. Cheers to him for his success and the way he connected himself to the game, but I do not find his production near any talent. My opinion...

Thats dumb, maybe he can't mix because he started in the hood and didn't have any professional training and had to teach himself everything and hasn't changed his methods cause they've been working so well for long, OR he just knows he's gonna have to send the track outs to the artists engineer so they can mix and change things, Thats why they don't have to mix -_-. 808s have been around for years, most of NWAs, Biggies, 2 live crew songs had 808s in them, they were just on higher notes.
