    Should I join the military?

I went into college with so much faith in business and planning on transferring to a great school of business, but now almost a whole year into it, i'm having second thoughts like this ain't what I wanna do. My brother who is about to graduate high school this year is already done with most of his paperwork/physicals and on to go to basic training for the MARINE CORPS; at first I thought he was a dumbass for not going to college but now I envy him cuz he gets extra time and opportunities to try out different things in the military that may help him figure out what he wants to do because I ain't feeling this business BS. I been contemplating finishing up this year and maybe entering a branch a higher grade than enlisted with my college credits and doing something productive until I figure out what I wanna do, i'm 19 so its not too late I hope; but I was wondering if anyone here can give me some insight on this; I got nothing going on besides school and getting into trouble here and there... maybe the military would be a good choice for a person in my position. I don't know any real sh*t that could help me out in the military besides my one year in Foundations of Business and I doubt that will help but what do any of you think? Should I do military now and college later?

Or should I stop being a lil b*tch, stick it out and make myself interested?

I should prolly ask my counselor about this but I need some insight from my niggaz and peers first.

Well, just based on the last month and a half of your posts, you may need to get that paperwork signed quickly, before you really get into some serious trouble that will destroy what little opportunities you have.

Find out what you want to do (besides music). Score high on the exam, so you have more options.

I would. I tried but couldn't due to a pre existing medical condition. I wanted to join the Airforce. A lot of opportunities but at the same time your uncle sames Beezy so know that going in.

Do what you feels right. I'd go for the military as my final option.

    As a veteran,

    Are you suicidal?

    Are you homeless?

Are you trying to get out of jail time?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then the military can be a good option.

If no, keep in mind right now we are actively fighting 3 wars. Iraq, Afghanistan, and drugs.

If you join you will be deployed at least once. I was national guard. I was on active orders for 5 years. I wasn't able to go to school because of that.

If school is you only reason, find another way. look into grants, scholarships, and loans so you can actually go to school. You can't attend school if you are in Iraq or if you are dead.

You have a good chance of being severely injuried or killed if you join. is the rick worth it? I was injured, I have 3 pins in my shoulder and now I suffer from chronic migraines. Was it worth it? Nope, I'd rather be health again. And I still haven't been able to go to school.
#music101 Talent is an other word for potential. Potential is a nice way of saying something isn't working. Results matter!

If you can look at yourself in the mirror and honestly say that you're willing to die for this country and what it stands for and you believe that what the USA is doing is right and good, then you should consider it.

If you're not ready to die or don't believe in the wars or what really goes on in this country, I wouldn't do it.

Well I ain't suicidal, or homeless or about to do Jail Time, but I really don't know what I wanna do in life, I thought business but now I don't wanna do that, so I thought maybe joining the military will give me some opportunities to try different things out, I know my bros going on to be in engineering, which can be anything from drawing building designs to working hard ass equipment, plus he'll learn all this stuff that can really help him out in the real world.... and I envy that cuz imma be doing the same **** for the next 8 years in something I thought I wanted to do. I love the USA and FREEDOM, I don't know if I can just "DIE" for my country like that, but I sure as hell will do anything to fight for the safety of american citizens. Its just all this stuff my bro has been saying sounds really good and he's all jacked up to go. His recruiters real cool too, dude came in yesterday and said the funniest **** ever. I was talking about the army and how I was thinking about going into that and this is what he said "The army? Naw man thats sissie stuff, those are the ******* of the military.... you see after us, the marines, go into different countries and **** **** up, they send out the ARMY and GUARD to clean up all the **** we left ****ed up for them." He said it way BETTER but still dude was a real hard ass..... and I know they get paid to get you interested cuz they make money off every recruit they get; but even the worst i've heard is still something to keep me occupied and add to my resume while i'm thinking about what I really wanna do for a career.

Why don't you just re-think your education ? Switch majors into something that you really enjoy and can profit from. If you were to join the military just because you were kind of "stuck" in life, and not knowing what you want to do...well that would be one of the worst mistakes you have ever made. You don't go into the forces unless you are 100% sure and know you want to do this without a doubt, especially a branch such as the Marines. They'll break you down physically and mentally before they ship you off...and you don't want to go through training such as that if you don't have your heart in it...because you'll end up going to bed crying every night with regrets...no jokes. Only you can answer that question, but the fact you ask is an answer in itself in my eyes.
