Classical music stimulates the brain, because most of the instruments are transient-rich and because many instruments blend over into/out of the frequency range of the human voice (especially FEMALE voices). It's like listening to someone sing a song in a language you don't know.............but understand subconsciously.
Many people with defective hearing have problems with understanding language/picking voices out of a crowd, because it is highly dependent on the ear/brain being able to perceive transients in a signal. (It's a very interesting topic; once you understand how your ear/brain works "on music" and the role of the Corpus callosum, your understanding of the "rules" in mixing/production will be much deeper).
What's interesting about this? MP3s have a limited, unnatural frequency range AND most of the transients get lost in the process, or in short: yes, listening to MP3s makes you DUMB.
Hmmm, what else can I bore you with? Babies react to music "in utero", you all know this. Did you know that babies pick up the ACCENT and LANGUAGE of the people talking to them before they are born? Japanese babies end up crying in Japanese, American in English and French..........you guessed it. Babies basically learn "playing" their "native instrument" before they are born and therefore before they start to speak.
And something completely unrelated to end this post: tomato juice tastes much better on a plane than on the ground. Try it out just in case you don't like tomato juice, but never drank it on a plane. Just saying. LMAO
