Is a B.C. Rich Trace Warbeast and Line6 Spider IV 75 watt amp good for starting metal playing? Or would you recomend something else?

BC Rich is great for metal. My friend uses one in his band, listen for yourslelf. http://myspace.com/ruinmainemetal

Don't know anything about amps though.

I've always thought that the BC Rich was a great bargain shredding guitar. They have humbucker style pick ups and therefore do not lack any power.
If that amp does half of what it says it does, it'll blow your mind.
You should be able to find any kind of metal sound you want with that amp.
75 watts should be loud enough but metal drummers like to pound so you'll have to figure that out as you go.
Have fun with it, it should work well.

Kind of a late posting but I haven't been registered long hehe.

It all depends on the kind of metal you are playing and if you plan on playing with a drummer. For instance. If you get an amp that has no poweramp out then you can't connect to extension cabs when there is one around. So make sure whatever amp you get can drive at least a 2x12 extension.
Tube amps usually sound great for heavier stuff, and with the addition of an overdrive pedal you can crank a little more gain out.

ESP is the best, most popular metal brand out there, IMO. I recommend you get yourself an ESP. They have the LTD brand for starters so check those out. Really. Solid. Guitars. As for amps, that Line 6 should do the trick.

I have the Line 6 spider III 15 W, and I personally like it better than the 100W Marshall I used to own, so the spider IV would definitely be a great choice. the Peavey Vypyr series are very similar though, both in features and price range, but I've only tried the tube 60 one which is a lot more expensive.

as far as guitars, I guess B.C. Rich is a decent choice, I'm personally a huge fan of Jackson, but in the end it all comes down to how the neck feels in your hand, and everyone has their own preference.
