My room is covered with Alex Grey's posters.

This guy came from another world. He says he is the fifth member of TOOL.
He's the right artist to traslate their sound in visual impressions. ALEX GREY is simply amazing. (too much DMT I say...)

You don't need to be a critic, to notice when somebody has a real, authentic commitment with its work. We live just once, so let's dedicate this unique life to a great, honest work.

That's how I describe TOOL and Alex Grey works.
Gear: Waldorf MicroQ, Roland VSynth, SP 808 and Juno 106, Korg Electribes ESX and EMX, Command stations XL7 and MP7, Yamaha EX5 and A4000, Ensoniq FIZMO

Tool are excellent musicians. Have you heard of a band called Chevelle? The singer sounds similar.

I would say Adam Jones is one of the most innovative guitarists out there... he's up there with Tom Morello. Besides how many guitarists can say Peter Frampton personally taught them how to play with the talk box.

That's because the vocalist of Chevelle notes Maynard as one of his biggest influences.

tool is an incredible band. a lot of people aren't into them though because of how obsessive their fans can be. they make awesome music with deep lyrics and all that.....but they are not supreme spiritual leaders like some claim them to be.

I mean, this guys work so good, they have a great commitment with their music.

The art and the concept cannot be better, Alex Grey gave them the perfect concept on Lateralus.
They have reach the perfect combination between, visual, auditive and performance. Tool videos are incredible, their concerts are total madness, and the music is so emotional and complex.

Each album is a unique world of sounds. They are so careful with the selection of their images, their message. A band 100% concerned about their music quality, always giving the best. How much bands can we say work like them ?
Don't know much about metal, but I got a candidate for you : myspace.com/miretheband

    Hope they past the test.

I grew up on Nu-Metal and Rap-Metal, but Tool always stood out to me. Personally though, I think Rage Against the Machine has made it further and bigger than Tool, I would call them one of the greatest.
