Im thinking about recording my own voice and then modifying it for my music tracks. ANyone got any experience with this?

    - Would recording it through windows recorder into .wma format be enough?
    - What techniques can I use in FL studio to make it sound dark, cool, original and so on? For example FL studio has type to speech ability which transforms it into different types of voices including robotic onse, are there other filters around to do similar things for recorded speech samples?

youll get the best results by combining effects, things like pitch shifters with distortions and eq. or else try vocoding but that takes a bit of extra work to sound good. go to my soundcloud page below and check out the mars track (page 2), i recorded my own voice with a 5 euro mic and processed it to fuhk.

ive played with vocoders, they all seem to offer very little.

ive seen a tutorial for FL grain filter i think its called, havent tried that yet, but it gives pretty diverse modification.

Which distortions would you recommend together with pitch shifters; i just think phaser, choir, flanger arent enough. Im gonna check out these Camel Space, Absynth FX

checked out your Mars track: i need to modify the vocal way beyond what you did in your track, i think pitch and distortions wont be enough for me.
