Yessssssss, Techno is my style too ! I prefer the harder side (because of my hardcore background), like DJ Rush, Surgeon, Umek, Johannes Heil etc. But i like milder styles like Timo Maas too.

I'm another big techno fan. Check out stuff on Kanzleramt, Basic Channel, Axis, and theres a nice new release on Aquatrax - Aquatrax XV (which is actually by me hehe).

    Just found this dated thread..

Werd, I'd say 'go check out my 'just got back from the store' thread', too, but lately I've just been buying house and chill, so it probably wouldn't help much.

I have three shelves full of suggestions and recommendations for you, but I'll try to limit myself

It sounds as though you like both the grittier and minimal sides of tekno.. so I'll try to keep to that.

For grittier, you can check a lot of the more usual, well-known names that people have mentioned already.. but lately I haven't seen too much good stuff by them, and their releases are usually few and far between. A name I've come to like a lot lately is Hardcell. He's been working with a lot of different names lately, and these releases are great. He has his own sound, yet all his releases don't sound the same, like some tend to do.

Henrik B has also worked with a bunch of people lately.. Adam Beyer to be just one of them. Good--a little on the tougher side.

Steffan Ehrlin is another name to check. Worked with Glenn Wilson, others.

I don't get much into the bangin minimal stuff [stuff like Kai Randy Michael], but one name that I've noticed in that area is Michael Burkhart. He does a lot fo stuff on the Contrast label, which I think may be his.

Also check Marco Bailey. 'Chellenger' on his own label MB Elektronics has been out for a while, but is still one of my top tekno tunes right now. A lot of raw energy.

If you ever get into my kind of tekno--the funkier side--you can check out guys like:

The Neapolitan brothers Gaetano Parisio, Marco Corola, Rino Cerrone, and new kid Danilo Vigorito.. Bryan Zentz, Ignition Technician, Player, Ade Fenton, Jel Ford, Dave Angel, Space DJz, Jamie Bissmire, Dave Clarke [my hero], Advent, Umek, and a creator of one nice new sound of tekno, Mateo Murphy.

There's a million of 'em out there--just go to Groovetech, select tekno from the search list, and start listening. Soon you'll know just who you're looking for, and a shopping cart filled with $400 worth of material. Now print up your list, and take it to your local shop and ask for those.

Some dub and house aswell, the latter under 'James Barth'. Totally down to earth fella, i've met him a couple of times the past years. He's always got some great production/dj tricks to share

And that stuff is GENIUS. Someone brought in a couple of his first EPs and LPs by James Barth '$tealin Music' and I think 'High Soceity' [I think they're probably worth some ca-ching now]. I first knew him by the track that Danny Tenaglia put on his first GU mix '$tealin Music'.

Both of those albums sound so fresh today, it's just amazing. Both came out on Svek, and I have a lot of regard for that label, and think that a lot of their earlier stuff still sounds fresh today.. but perhaps none as fresh as James Barth's.

As far as Lekebusch's recent stuff goes, though, I can't say I'm too big of a fan. Put a couple of his tracks on some mix CDs ['Enter the Dragon', something else], but for the most part it's just too noisy, distorted. Too distorted for my taste.

But to leave it on a high note for the man I thoroughly respect him as a producer, as he can and has done just about anything [within taste].
