in songs like "im not a star", "pledge allegiance" and i dont know if they produced 2 pistols' "looking down on em" you can hear basically the same progression, and i would like to know if any of you know which it is, ive been trying to do something similar but cant get anything quite like it. thanks

If your talking about the brass chords, I think its Octaves of B flat, then it moves in Semi-tones up or down. Hope this helped

Thank you for another challenge.

Each of the tunes you mention do indeed use the same progression although in different keys. There are also some variations within the different songs that make the progressions use novel in each instance.

This uses the progression Ebmin/Bb - Cb major (D#min/A# - B major)

The first chord appears to be the home chord or chord i. So the progression is best described as i/5 - bVI

This uses the progression Dmin - Bb major and sometimes Dmin/A - Bb major

The first chord appears to be the home chord or chord i. So the progression is best described as i - bVI and i/5 - bVI

Version 1

This uses the progression Cmin - Ab major/C and Cmin/G - Ab major. the progression then modulates (changes key center) to Dmin - Bb major/D and sometimes Dmin/A - Bb major

In both keys, the first chord appears to be the home chord or chord i. So the progression is best described as i - bVI/1 and i/5 - bVI

The key difference is the rhythm used:

The chord i is played for the first 3 beats and chord bVI is played on the last two 8th notes with an accent.

Version 2

Lastly here are all three progressions put into the same key

In each of the 12 keys, the progression would be

Dmin/A - Bb
Emin/B - C
Fmin/C - Db
Gmin/D - Eb
Amin/E - F
Bmin/F# - G
Cmin/G - Ab
C#min/G# - A
Ebmin/Bb - B
F#min/C# - D
G#min/D# - E
Bbmin/F - Gb
