I Quit. *Rant*

I feel where you're coming from Dot_Robinson, except for the ivory tower "pond of guppies" stuff. It'll be my 23rd birthday on April 8th and I'm at a crossroads career-wise... I will continue to do my music until it's no longer profitable, that's for certain. I just need to find out what I wanna do in the meantime to prepare for when the money dries up.

Definitely. My thing is I'm not trying to wait for the wishing well to dry before I'm forced to find a source of income. I'm no stranger to the 9 to 5 market, in fact, I just passed up an amazing promotion to move closer to what my goals are.

I'm just tired of feeling like a cog in a much bigger machine. I'm tired of generating millions for other people. The music business is no different. I want to be accepted in the upper echelon of people who created something revolutionary. People who are accepted and were engraved in the silk binding of history.

That to me is more important than selling beats, and working for some corporate fat cat.

This must be how 50 Cent felt when he was making Get Rich or Die Trying. I'm hungry for all the right reasons.

Best of Luck. 99% of FP have already quit, they just don't know it yet.

This is probably true if you got involved in this game just to try and make a buck.

But, if you are naturally creative and have always made music, regardless if its makin beats, playing a sax or laying it down on the keys you will never just walk away. Its in you, and that calling to create will never pass...

$.02

Debunking American History, being a great husband to my wife, and raising my son the right way has taken the place of beatmaking for me.
I still get calls asking for beats but I tell them, I've retired. They laugh and say yeah right Cash.

Will I sell my set up...Hell No!

Native blood: the truth behind the myth of `Thanksgiving Day' (now with video)

I still want a huge check so I won't quit.

... guess I'll start submitting to track dumps again.

Man, all you need is a bandcamp site. It's the new ish that's going to save the world... and make us all rich.

... or did I get that confused with ReverbNation...

BiggRome quit 10 years ago. j/k

Cash Daily never got started... lol.

I make music because I'm not much of a gamer and I'm not going to wait to get next on a b ball court...

It's just something that has the potential to make money... like I said before... people get inspired in spurts.

Dot Robinson used to argue with me back n forth about the pie in the sky... then he said he was a hobbyist... then he made a thread a few weeks ago about he had a new Soundclick a was going to be the King of RnB production (had new songs and everything)... then this week he quits...

He'll be back with a Bandcamp thread in a month or so.... I've been around FP too long I've seen it all. I'm actually doing research on producer behavorial patterns... I'm going to write a book about it. Stay tuned.
