I have been out of Hip-Hop since 2010- man shit has changed!

I am a hater
I used to go by wan-tan-soup14 on here back when I was a kid, I'm 26 now.

Since then I went to engineering school, moved to LA, got into different genres but pretty much abandoned hip-hop. Alright, I can't say completely- obviously a song here or there was heard on the radio or at parties but in general my rap knowledge took a nose dive. Something about the direction it was headed turned me off.

I make music, mostly r&b now, but something tells me I need to get back into rap; you can't just ignore the market. And I guess that's where you guys come in. As far a need to listen to albums, shit that has influenced the industry and are must listens, who do you guys recommend? Prior to leaving rap I listened to shit like Busta Rhymes, DPGC, Snoop, Dre, etc.

I want to know what it was that turned you off as it is perfectly normal to have evolved views on the music you grew up feeling. Find what turns you on but never force yourself to like artists and/or songs.
