Sugar Hill Gang- Rappers Delight. the beat was the begining of hip-hop.

'the greatest beat ever'

thats rely broad, put it into categories like, best club beat, best knock-a-nigga-out beat, best chill beat etc

but my favorite is 'im serious remix' T.I.

Pete Rock & CL Smooth - TROY
Tupac - Keep Ya Head Up
Snoop Dog - Aint Nothin But G Thang
Bone Thugs N Harmony - Da Crossroads
Notorious B.I.G. - Warning
Dr. Dre Snoop Dog - Deep Cover
Jay Z - You Don't Know
Fabolous - Breathe
DMX - Ruff Ryder's Anthem
Justin ttmberlake - Cry Me A River
Nas - Nas Is Like
Mobb Deep - Shook One Pt 2

...Sorry that was 12 but dang, just one of all time!?

This is why im hot is an ill beat but theres been too many ill beats for it to be the best. Dreams is just another kanye sampled beat.

Shook Ones pt 2 and Whoa

would be up there for me, its too hard too choose one beat

Alot of people will say what about the old 90's beats but in my personal opinon i enjoy the beats nowdays more.

TROY will always be classic but i agree with people naming some kanye beats..

Stronger/Diamonds/ - Kanye (infact alot of kanyes beats)

So much Fire - Heatmakers (and more heatmakers ****)

Timberland got some fire aswell, and i love that saw remix.

Spose its not hard to tell i like the sampled sound.

And why people talking like its only FP that rate Kanye? He wouldnt be known as one of the best producers in hiphop if he didnt have the talent to back it up.

Dre
Kanye
Premier
Just Blaze
Rza
Dilla
Timberland

^theres always gunna be others but there what you call super-producers

defiinitely the 90's era held some of the dopest beats..
heres some in my opinion..
cream-wu tang
troy-pete rock..cl smooth
epmd-headbangers

but there are so many beats in my head its impossible to say wats the best..i dont even have a favorite

yeah I was a huge Wu-Tang clan fan anything and every beat by them or associates I loved. I was young and dumb and got C.R.E.A.M. tattoed on my shouder

yeaa they used that sample much better then kanye did in shorty wanna be a thug.. in my opinion

This is a VERY broad question, especially if you've been listening to Hip Hop for MAD years like some of us. Topics like this will catch fire quick. I'd have to say some of the best beats that come to mind are these:

Jeru the Damaja - Come Clean
Nas - New York State of Mind
Das Efx - Jussumen (Pete Rock remix)
Pete and CL - TROY
Marley Marl - The Symphony
Public Enemy - Welcome to the Terrordome
O.C. - Times Up
KRS One - Rappaz are in Danja
O.C. - M.U.G.
Jeru the Damaja - Da Original

These are just a few quick ones that come to mind. Then again, I can never narrow it down cuz my catalog goes back mad far and I've listened to soo much s$%t over the years.
