The Forgotten Martin Luther King

Today is Martin Luther King's birthday. With the state of Hip-Hop being what it is, regardless of the fact that the president is black, do you feel that Martin Luther King has been forgotten? Everything he died for has been lost with the current generation. Either its be an athlete, drug dealer or a rapper for black males or be an athlete, "model" or baby mama for black females. Radio, tv and record labels don't care about conscious records about social injustice. Why do you think that Martin Luther King is remembered for one day out of the year and forgotten the other 364?

Does anyone remember anybody who wasn't $$$$ before everything else? No way, the only men of integrity people remember are the old guys on the bills.

disagree. We have more black students going to college and graduating getting higher degrees and better jobs. We have black students actually wanting and believing that they can have a career instead of just a factory job. I meet more women in college who want to be teachers, social workers etc than models or baby mamas. Same on the other side with black students. Aspirations and goals are set much higher than what they were in the past. so MLKJ's dream is far from lost.
