It's more trap than EDM. I'm not trying to hate I'm just being honest. I listen to tons of EDM on a regular. (Real EDM, not that stuff you here on Hip Hop radio stations) I just don't get that vibe from this. I'm not saying it's bad or it wont blow up. The rap game is kinda funny right now so this might do well. I just dont think they should throw EDM in the mix just to get a crossover fan base. This kinda reminds me of reggaeton in America. That was suppose to be the next thing. It was, for about a summer.

I just tried something like this add a little bit of wobble bass in the beat beyond tell me what you think I'm going to practice it more

i love the sounds youve used but you need to slow the drums down to doubletime and get an 808 to bang in there

yeah I was thinking I'm making the beat too fast
and I haven't listened to the beat yet on monitors just made it and never mix it or anything of the sort

I'm going to make something tonight
and tomorrow afternoon while most ppl are at work I'll crank up the studio monitors and listen to the 808 hits and try slowing down the beat a bit and see what I come out with
thanks for the feedback

I seen by your posts you're doing some big things of late
blessings your way sir

He got a point though. Hip Hop was born from taking parts of other genres. Go and listen to some old Def Jam music from the 80's. That was ll rock and roll. Run DMC and Beastie Boys had rock beats. The 90's used Jazz. I would call it stealing, but it did and still does use snippets of other genres. To me, if your music don't have samples in it, it's not "true" hip hop.

It doesnt have to be melodic just has to pound and have a bounce. Using trap drums/melodies and sequencing it like an electronic track makes alot of these beats standalone and not need vocals. Could be big in 2013 for live shows.

I hope I never come off that pretentious on camera like some of those dudes in that video did lmfao....

You can do all of this in Ableton Live since like version 5. All you need is a MPC-style controller like he has (or two, or an MPC style controller and little midi-controller) and a template.
It's basic looping and scene-arranging on the fly.
It looks dope with all those lights and he has rhythm, but technically, there's nothing preventing you from doing that in Live already.

I guess trap beqtmakers are trying to find a new outlet... They have to do shows since they want to get paid... I still think that it's not different enough from the trap songs... and what would be trap beats without a gucci, TI, jeezy, waka and whoever on it...

But it may well become successful in spite of us... Guess some would get mad if it did so... There are a few more creations like that in their infancy like moombahton... I do think that it's a way for us to contribute to a genre early, be creative in it and who knows what the future will be..

Shit too soft. Sounds good though......for some soft shit. People put the word trap on anything. Need to get around some real niggas.......then you will feel what I be saying. You'll be calling a lot shit some watered down shit. Ole "Lil Jon throw away beats meets Lex on the hats" face ass beats man! Man...I can't get a pistol charge to that shit. Understand me!

I personally don't think non of these half and half genres are gonna take off. It's either or.Besides far as a rap genre goes I think Drill is one of the next things.
