To all of the EDM producers in here...
I am having a hard time distinguishing the difference between EDM Nu Disco & EDM Indie Dance....
Both of them sound EXACTLY the same to me.
If there are any distinguishable characteristics, instruments or tones I can hear...its mostly...
1. EDM Nu Disco - Has more R&B/soulful influences, more synths and less acoustic instruments and also a lot more darker tone. Also more pronounced bass line.
2. EDM Indie Dance - Has more rock/alternative influences, less synths and more acoustics instruments (guitar etc.) and a lot more brighter/happier tone. Bass line isn't as pronounced.
Does anyone agree with me on the above...?
Besides that...I am at a total lost and am trying to distinguish what the differences are between the 2 because most of the time they both sound the same to me.
For Example...MADEON. Is he nu disco or Indie Dance...? Beatport has most of his songs labeled as Indie Dance...but I actually think they are more akin to nu disco.
Help...???
