A Whole New Model of Music Distribution!

We are a team of entrepreneurs at 3DS Austin. We are developing a crowd-sourced music publishing platform. Artists log in to the portal and upload music stems (i.e., tracks, lyrics, vocals) for community use. Anyone in the community can then use the uploaded content in their own arrangements. If the song or album sells, everyone involved receives a portion of the proceeds.

We need feedback on our idea please! Anything is appreciated.

Well, this is neither a "music publishing" system, nor is it any "model of music distribution"...

You are trying to get a bunch of people together to essentially submit music for people to use as song elements...

It is "hey, here are some parts we can all use in eachothers songs"

I see many problems with it from figuring out writing percentages, to not having parts people want to use, to the few parts you have getting overused, to having only a few decent parts and a huge amount of crap submitted, to people not wanting to pay people for sampling their amateur parts when they don't even want to pay when they sample professional music, to the fact that there are countless sample CDs out there that already offer you elements for free... Etc, etc.
