Such as sounds from Vengeance, Black Octopus, etc.? Even if they say "Royalty Free", are you always in the clear?
What are the rules of using commercial samples in tracks?

If they say royalty free you are fine, you may need to quote the source(s) but otherwise you are fine
as for those that you need to obtain clearance for, better to ask in advance and know you can or can't use the sample than to get caught later and lose all the money that you will make from the track imnsho

Brought sample packs you are always fine with...otherwise what's the point in selling them to people then not letting them use them?
The only problem with big name sample packs is that if they're really big, everyone uses them and your music could end up sounding generic if you use them too much.
