How much of an advantage is living in a major city?

How much more of an advantage do producers living in major cities such as NY, CHI, LA, MIA, or ATL? What can they do that a producer with an internet connection who lives in the middle of nowhere can't? The reason I ask this is because I'm moving to a major city this summer, and I'm trying to brainstorm and get a plan to market my music to artists in ways that I couldn't normally do it with just an internet connection.

Networking in person builds stronger relationships.

No that you can't do it over the internet though.
