How to develop a fanbase?

I'm a 17 year old rapper and i put out music but i almost never recieve any feedback. It doesn't matter if somebody is the next biggie smalls, if we never hear it, then the world may never know. I need help getting those plays. I get only 30-100 plays on my soundcloud and i never get re-posted. I have a twitter and everything and youtube doesn't work due to all the changes anymore. So what can i do? What am i doing wrong? Can anyone suggest sites where i can promote music better?

9 times out of 10 if you don't receive any feedback its probably because your music doesn't compel people enough to want to say something about it. This may or may not be because your music is bad but you may still need to work at it for a while to get it to that level. Regardless of what the reason is, try not to focus too hard on recognition right now, focus on being the best at what you do. The recognition will follow.

It will take some time but IMO 10 real followers trumps 1000 fake ones all day long.
 
if you spam the comments of similar songs on youtube with a heartfelt message about not getting any recognition, and post each song on like 10 different forums, and basically do EVERYTHING YOU POSSIBLY CAN, it might help.
