What are some proven ways that a music industry medium can increase youtube video views?

I see al the time fo these artists becoming youtube sensations on the news etc...........

how do they do it promoting wise?

on other ppl's blogs(contact them bloggers are always looking for media)

and yesfinesse is correct keep your social networks update with your video everytime you make a video post a link and a little description/story about the video

and post your video every monday,every friday, or every two weeks
keep a schedule for the serious youtuber they subscribe and they have tons of other channels they are subscribe to
so they go back a schedule too
interact with your audience respond to the comments
