What should a producer post on social media?

I am having trouble figuring out what to post on social media. Facebook and instagram allows for photos and videos but I dont know what else to post besides photos of my studio or videos of beat previews. I also have no idea what to write on twitter.

relevant material about the work they are doing;

this may include
- socialising with clients (if they are relatively well known names - no-one cares if you partied with a large ego wanna-be, but they do care if you partied with Snoop or others like that)
- studio shots of the vocalist you are tracking
- post production videos demonstrating your mix/mastering sessions

above all make it relevant - inanities like check out this cute cat video should not be in your professional media stream (unless of course that cute cat video is the promotional video for your latest project....:) )

Believe it or not, most of my tweets have nothing to do with music. What I mainly tweet about are inspiration quotes I make up, what's happening in the world, etc. People respond better when your not always talking about yourself or promoting what your doing, It works for me anyway.
Good luck and I hope you find much success with your marketing.

Quick breakdown of what I'll be using social media for in the future (in regards to my music marketing blog):

1. Twitter

I'll use it to converse with people. I used search.twitter.com to help me build my Twitter back in 2011 and 2012, I found conversations that interested me and I engaged. My twitter is @ExclusivoMusic.

2. Facebook

I'll be using their unpublished posts feature to target musicians looking for marketing advice, while publishing general posts of images, videos and status' on the Internal Affairs page.

3. Snapchat

I started using it 3 days ago, after a long hiatus off of it. Just posting general things in the story - days out, bit of banter between friends. May use it to push internalaffairs.co, though I'm unsure yet. But the platform is great for building a personal connection with your "fans". Give them a sneak peek in to your life. My Snapchat is "exclusivo", if you'd like to give me a follow.

4. You Tube

Obviously videos around my music marketing. Don't think there's much to explain, really.

I would have given you a 5th (Instagram), but I have some plans for it that I think are quite unique. Don't want someone else using the idea before I can even implement it.

If you're interested in my findings on social media in the future, I'll probably write a few emails and posts on my music marketing blog. If you fancy checking the blog out, have a look. Here's a link.

Cheers,
Jordan

Bro, just be yourself and you won't have to worry. Think about who your favourite artists are on each social media platform. What are they posting? Use that as a rough guideline.

Anything. Just make sure that not all of your posts are a week between and all say "Check out my new beat here!" :topicclosed:

I think it can be a good thing to follow the different tips given by the website Hypebot. Really great to get some good tricks about how artists have to deal/interact with social networks/audience.
