So i read that soundcloud is going down

hmm corporate greed takes over yet again

the real issue is not that the corporate giants (sony, et al) are hassling soundcloud, but that those of us who do not sample or otherwise use other artists materials (cover tunes, etc) are gong to be penalised the most for no infringements whatsoever

DJs who want to play mixes of already created songs need their own site that complies with Universal, Sony and the RIAA - leave Soundcloud to the up-and-coming independent musicians. I'd even be willing to remove the acapellas I use for anti-piracy off of my tracks.

Sidenote - Spinnin Records need to disappear from SC as well.

I hope they find a compromise because SC is such a big tool for a lot of artists I know.

Soundcloud isn't going down. They'll probably reach an agreement with Sony (and other big record companies) over the royalties and we'll get more big names appearing on our search, instead of up-and-coming artists/djs/producers.

That's why I think people should stop bootlegging big artists and start doing their own work.
