First time posting, so i'm not sure if this has been addressed in past threads. But does anyone know the legalities in sampling audio from a viral video? or instagram/ vine/ youtube video?
There are producers like Schmoyoho and Bombs Away (can't post links yet) that take the audio from online videos and turn them into songs.
I understand that there are services for clearing music samples, but is there a similar service for the audio from video?
I ask because i'd like to use a sample from a video that T.I. made in response to fighting Floyd Mayweather. He says "Where dey at doe?"
Alternatively, I could probably just record myself saying the same thing in the same cadence (correct me if i'm wrong), but am still interested in the legalities of this stuff.
