A&R services

[Wicked Apollo]

I was approached by an individual on Twitter stating he is an A&R that works with labels such as interscope, Atlantic, def jam, etc. He states he's interested in shopping my beats to these labels for a price. Now I am ignorant when it comes to a lot of music business practices and am doing what I can to learn the ins and outs of the business. My question is, is this normal to have to pay for A&R services or does this sound like a scam?

Dj Pain 1 seems to imply that SarahJ @SJmanager is a scam herself.

I would be wary if he's looking for an upfront fee, and do some research to validate any claims the person is making.

Pretty sad when damn near everyone claiming to be an a&r is a scam... Hard to trust ppl these days
